Perhaps the most famous article written about the new art of the 1980’s and Jean-Michel Basquiat, Rene Ricard’s “The Radiant Child”, a reference to one of Keith Haring’s iconic symbols, has become Art History in and of itself. Though it is primarily remembered as the essay which seemed to launch Basquiat into mainstream consciousness, it also highlighted many other Artists including Judy Rifka, John Ahearn, Francesco Clemente and, famously, Taki. This issue also features an article by Dan Graham.
