Published a few months prior to Rene Ricard’s famous article “The Radiant Child” in Artforum, December 1981 (which also illustrated World Crown), this rare issue was likely the first time a painting by Jean-Michel Basquiat had ever been reproduced in a periodical. OCLC lists only one example held in libraries (02/3/22).
